SEATTLE — The state Department of Transportation says several Seattle ramps to and from Interstate 5 will be closed Thursday evening before fireworks begin over Lake Union.
KOMO-TV reported the following ramps will begin to close starting at 9 p.m.:
The southbound I-5 offramp to Roanoke Street
The Boylston street onramp to southbound I-5
The southbound I-5 exit-only lane and offramp to Mercer Street
The ramps and lane will all reopen at the conclusion of the fireworks display.
DOT officials say the ramps are closed for several reasons, such as preventing drivers from stopping on I-5 to watch the fireworks.
