SEATTLE — Three people remained in Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Monday after they were injured in crashes that killed three others in Snohomish County over the weekend.
Mario Diaz-Romero, 24, remained in serious condition with chest and abdominal injuries from a crash Sunday near Marysville, hospital spokeswoman Kristin Foley said. The driver, Jose Sanchez-Villagomez, 28, died when his minivan ran off 34th Avenue NE at a curve and struck a tree.
Andrew M. Pruett was listed in serious condition with a broken leg and abdominal injuries. He was the driver of a pickup that ran off the road Saturday and struck a telephone pole and a tree on Newberg Road east of Lake Stevens. A passenger, Douglas D. Rogers, died of head injuries.
Nathan J. Hess, 23, of Monroe was upgraded to satisfactory from serious condition. He suffered leg and abdominal injuries Friday in a head-on collision on Highway 203 south of Monroe when the pickup in which he was a passenger collided with a semi-truck hauling construction equipment. The driver, Obed T. Cushing, 22, of Sultan died.
