MILL CREEK — Police in Mill Creek are investigating a report that someone tried to lure a Mill Creek Elementary School student into a car earlier this week.
The girl was walking home from school around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when a black four-door car pulled up next to her, police said. The driver, possibly in his mid-20s, told her to get inside. He reportedly said he was her Uber driver and that her parents called him to pick her up.
The girl didn’t get inside, police said. She ran away and safely made it home.
Police are looking for more information. Tips can be directed to the department at 425-407-3999.
A statement from the city advised parents to use the incident as a teaching opportunity.
“Be aware of and teach your kids about stranger-danger,” the statement said. “Help your kids know who safe adults are.”
