MARYSVILLE – Students at Marysville Middle School were evacuated and sent home early after someone reportedly set a large roll of toilet paper on fire inside the girls bathroom just before 1 p.m. today.
The fire reportedly broke a toilet and created a lot of smoke, Marysville police Cmrd. Robb Lamoureux said. The damage initially appeared to be caused by a small explosion, but upon further investigation police believe it was heat from the fire that cracked the porcelain toilet.
Marysville police called the Snohomish County sheriff’s office bomb squad to search the school as a precaution, Lamoureux said.
