CHEHALIS — A Toledo woman convicted of criminal mistreatment of her 13-year-old daughter was sentenced to four years in prison.
Before she was sentenced Monday in Chehalis, 35-year-old Teresa Hutton denied wrongdoing.
She was convicted last month for withholding food and water from her daughter, telling her she didn’t get food until she cared for more than 100 dogs.
The daughter ran away and weighed less than 60 pounds when she was found. KITI radio reports she is now living with an aunt and doing well in her new home.
Hutton pleaded guilty last summer to animal cruelty after an outbreak of disease led to euthanizing more than 40 dogs at what county officials believe was a puppy mill.
