MUKILTEO – Search and rescue teams followed a radio frequency to track down a man who had wandered away from an Everett hospital Tuesday morning.
The 57-year-old man is a participant in Project Lifesaver, a program that equips Alzheimer’s patients with electronic bracelets.
He walked away from Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus sometime between 6 and 6:30 a.m. A group home reported him missing about 11:30 a.m.
Snohomish County search and rescue teams in a sheriff’s office helicopter found the man more than two hours later walking along the railroad tracks near W. Mukilteo Boulevard and Madrona Avenue near Howarth Park, sheriff’s spokesman Rich Niebusch said.
The man was not injured.
