Monroe: Funnel cloud forms over Snohomish
An unusual funnel cloud welcomed Mike Helmas around 10 a.m. Sunday when he walked out of his home in Monroe to feed his horses.
Helmas, who lives on 177th Avenue SE, said he saw what appeared to be a tornado forming in the west toward Snohomish. Within about five minutes, it went back up into the cloud, he said. It was his first time to see a tornado in the area, said Helmas, who has lived there since 1988.
The National Weather Service had no other reports of tornadoes or funnel clouds in the area yesterday.
