The U.S. 2 trestle is scheduled to be closed Tuesday and Thursday nights this week for girder repairs.
Detours will be in effect and drivers should plan for delays.
Crews plan to close westbound U.S. 2 between Highway 9 and I-5 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and reopen it at 5 a.m. Wednesday and Friday.
The roadway will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning. The ramps from Highway 204, 20th Street SE and Bickford Avenue to westbound U.S. 2 will close starting at 6:30 p.m. each night and will reopen by 5 a.m. the next day.
Drivers will follow a signed detour using Highway 9 and Highway 528 to the north and Highway 9 and Highway 96 to the south. Drivers should allow an extra 15 to 35 minutes for their trips depending on their destination and traffic conditions.
The work is part of the $8 million rehab of the westbound U.S. trestle, built in 1968. The trestle is scheduled to be closed for up to 65 nights this summer while they repair 844 girders supporting the trestle. The first closures took place last month.
