TRI-CITIES — A Tri-City man is facing at least five years in prison after being convicted of residential burglary, theft and other charges for filing liens on property in Kennewick that he didn’t own.
The Tri-City Herald reported that two Benton County juries have found 38-year-old Corey Javon Williams guilty of the charges. He will be sentenced in connection with the scheme on Thursday and on March 23.
Williams is accused of using his corporation, C. Williams Group LLC, to file liens on empty houses and a rental car last fall.
He also was convicted in 2013 of similar crimes after being accused of fraudulently leasing foreclosed homes.
Williams remains held in the Benton County jail.
