EVERETT — A Washington State Patrol trooper and another driver were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after an accident Thursday morning.
Trooper Will Collier, 46, was parked on the left shoulder of I-5 at near 128th Street SW. He was looking for people speeding. A northbound vehicle drifted off the roadway and struck Collier’s car, according to a release.
The patrol is investigating whether drugs were a factor in the crash.
A Burien man, 51, was taken to Swedish Medical Center.
The trooper was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Sgt. Mark Francis said he was experiencing neck and back pain.
