No one hurt when driver loses control

EVERETT — A pickup truck landed upside down in the yard of a Rucker Avenue home Thursday afternoon after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
No one was injured. But a couple and their young child who live at the house were forced to leave shortly after the incident to take the woman, who is pregnant, to the hospital. Her water broke, according to police.
"It’s just lucky that there were no kids in the area," said Mike Markezinis, who rents the house to the couple. "They’re lucky nobody got hurt."
The pickup came within inches of breaking through the walls of the house in the 3400 block of Rucker Avenue after a porch support post was knocked down.
The driver, a 24-year-old Marysville man, was charged with reckless driving, Everett police Lt. Greg Lineberry said.
The incident began shortly after 3p.m. when the Marysville man was forced to stop for pedestrians crossing 35th Street, said Everett resident Tim Knutson, who was in traffic behind the pickup driver.
A couple of students stepped into the crosswalk and began to cross the street against the light, Knutson said.
"As soon as they got out of the way, he peeled out and turned the corner and lost control," Knutson said. "I guess he just got mad. He was trying to turn into the inside lane, but he didn’t really make it too well."
The Marysville man "accelerated rapidly, spinning his tires, causing the vehicle to fishtail" after the teens got out of his way, Lineberry said. The man lost control, and the 1999 Chevrolet pickup fishtailed to the right, then the left, then ran off the road and rolled over, plunging down the embankment, he said.
