TULALIP — Thirty people have signed up to join a new Tulalip-Quil Ceda chapter of Lions Club International, and chapter leaders are looking for more members.
“We need people who have a willingness to do community service,” said Art Ruben, one of the chapter’s founders.
Lions Club International chose the Tulalip area for a new chapter because of the area’s growing population, and because other organizations aren’t active there, Ruben said.
Club members are scheduled to meet at noon today at Canoes Restaurant at the Tulalip Casino. Members will elect club officers and choose regular meeting times and locations, Ruben said.
Anyone who is interested in joining the club must find a current member willing to act as a sponsor, Ruben said.
