TULALIP – A fireworks vendor at Boom City was arrested this afternoon on charges of possessing and selling illegal explosives, Tulalip Tribal Police said.
The 41-year-old Tulalip tribal member, arrested around 3 p.m., also was in unlawful possession of a small amount of illegal prescription pills, police said. The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting the ongoing investigation.
Stand operators at Boom City are allowed to sell fireworks that meet federal standards. The 40 or more devices detectives seized included cylinder and triangle bombs and contained more explosive powder than what the law allows, police said.
The man in today’s case has been booked on tribal charges at the Snohomish County jail pending transfer to federal authorities.
