The intersection of Marine Drive and 64th Street NW in Tulalip is scheduled for closure 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, from Jan. 9 through Jan. 20. A police officer will control the intersection. Signals will be set to flashing during the allowed days and times.
Crews are working on frontage improvements for the first phase of a new trail project on Marine Drive.
Currently, Marine Drive has just over 3 miles of sidewalks and bicycle lanes from I-5 to Seventh Avenue NW. The project will add 2.4 miles of illuminated, multi-use trail, connecting Seventh Avenue to 36th Avenue NW next to the Tulalip Boys and Girls Club.
After intersection work is complete, work will continue west of 64th Street NW. The eastbound lane is slated to be closed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through at least March.
The Tulalip Tribes, in partnership with Snohomish County, started the project in November. Work is expected to wrap up over the summer.
