TUMWATER — Police say a 13-year-old boy was lying in the street when he was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday night in Tumwater.
Det. Jen Kolb told The Olympian that it’s unclear why he was there. The boy was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with serious injuries and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver, a 51-year-old Tumwater man, failed a sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault.
