OLYMPIA — The secretary of state’s office predicts a record vote of more than 3 million ballots in Washington.
More than half were cast before Election Day, since 90 percent of state voters vote by mail or absentee. Mailed ballots must be postmarked today.
King and Pierce are the only counties that have not switched to all-mail voting. Polling places close at 8 p.m.
Voters are resolving the rematch between Gov. Chris Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi. They are deciding eight other statewide races, electing nine members of Congress, and choosing the entire 98-member state House and 26 Senate seats.
Voters also have the final say on initiatives dealing with traffic congestion, assisted suicide and home health care workers.
