OSO — The Washington State Patrol was investigating two unusual accidents near Oso Wednesday afternoon.
Both occurred around 2 p.m. In one crash, a Duvall man in his 70s had a medical emergency while driving. His sport utility vehicle went about 250 feet off the road before hitting a house, Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
The accident occurred near the Oso Loop Road. The driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
A second accident occurred around the same time, closer to Darrington on Highway 530. A semi-truck hauling lumber left the road and spilled its load of 2-by-4s.
The driver wasn’t hurt but it took a few minutes to clean up the mess, Leary said.
