Two Seattle men have been arrested for fatally beating a man who was later found dumped under a Snohomish County bridge.
One of the attackers became angry after the victim, Mohamed Hassen, urinated on the floor of his house while drunk, according to court documents.
The other man joined in the beating, slicing through a tattoo on the victim’s arm. They offered someone at the house a bag of crack cocaine to take Hassen’s unconscious body away in a van, detectives wrote.
The two Somali men, ages 23 and 27, have each been charged with second-degree murder. They’re being held at the King County Jail on $750,000 bail, the prosecutor’s office said Tuesday.
Hassen was found wrapped in a blanket on Oct. 20 under a Pilchuck River bridge southeast of Lake Stevens. He died the next day at Harborview Medical Center of severe head injuries.
Bank robbers sought: FBI officials are seeking the public’s help to identify two suspected takeover bank robbers, and the banks are offering an $8,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
The two men together are believed to be responsible for several local bank robberies, including a CityBank in the 20600 block of Bothell-Everett Highway in Bothell on July 25, a U.S. Bank in the 3700 block of Harbour Pointe Boulevard SW in Mukilteo on Oct. 3, a Horizon Bank in the 12800 block of Bothell-Everett Highway on Oct. 5, and a Banner Bank in the 12700 block of Fourth Avenue W. in Everett on Oct. 22.
The robbers use stolen cars during the robberies and then abandon them near the banks, FBI spokesman Ray Lauer said. One robber enters the bank, displays a silver-colored semiautomatic pistol and orders the occupants to lie on the floor. He wears a disguise and uses a bag or a backpack in which he puts the money, Lauer said. The second robber waits outside in the car.
Investigators ask anyone with information on the robbers to call the FBI in Seattle at 206-622-0460.
