EVERETT – Two 16-year-old boys were arrested today for allegedly phoning in a bomb threat Monday that forced an evacuation of Everett High School, police said.
A teacher and students became suspicious of one boy this morning after he was overheard talking about the incident, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
The boy was interviewed by school officials and police, Goetz said. He confessed his involvement and accused another boy of being involved, Goetz said. That boy also confessed.
The boys, a freshman and a sophomore, were booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of threats to bomb or injure property, a felony, Goetz said.
Students on Monday morning were forced to stand outside for about an hour, including during a hail storm, as a dozen Everett police officers searched the high school.
