ARLINGTON – An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night after a man carjacked a silver minivan from a woman with her two young children still inside, Arlington police said.
The woman told police she was at Rite Aid in the 17200 block of Smokey Point Boulevard about 8:30 p.m. when a man who said he had a knife carjacked her vehicle.
The man reportedly drove the mother and her two children to north Marysville, where he ordered the mother to get out. He drove away with the children, police said.
The woman does not know the man, police said.
The vehicle is described as a 2001 Chrysler Town &Country van, Washington license plate 135 UGD. It was last seen eastbound in the 2400 block of 128th Street NE in Marysville.
Missing were Abigail Sobania, 4, and Caleb Sobania, 2. Abigail has shoulder-length, sandy blond hair. She was wearing a red shirt with the word “sweety” printed on it, red pants and black boots. Caleb has blond hair and blue eyes and was wearing a blue and yellow shirt, blue sweat pants and white tennis shoes.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a shaved head and a slight goatee. He was wearing a navy blue or black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Arlington police and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
