Two men died after being thrown from a pickup truck that crashed late Friday night near Silvana in north Snohomish County.
The pair were headed west on Pioneer Highway near Larson Road around 11:30 p.m. when their Chevy S-10 pickup careened off the road and rolled over several times, said Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen.
Investigators believe they were driving at a high rate of speed, perhaps 80 to 90 mph, Jorgensen said. The driver was apparently going too fast to negotiate a curve.
Neither man had been identified Saturday. Jorgensen didn’t know where the victims were from or their exact ages, but said they were both in their early to mid-20s. Efforts to reach the county medical examiner’s office were unsuccessful Saturday.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the one-vehicle crash. It appeared that neither victim was wearing a seat belt, Jorgensen said.
