BELLEVUE — Two people reportedly suffered minor burns when a 42-foot boat burned Monday night at the Newport Shores Marina on Lake Washington at Bellevue.
KIRO-TV reported the owner pushed the burning boat away from the dock and swam back to shore. He was treated at a hospital. Another person on the dock suffered minor burns.
Emergency crews responded from Bellevue, Mercer Island, Seattle and the Coast Guard.
The boat sank.
The Ecology Department said the owner has hired a private contractor to contain about 50 gallons of gasoline that was aboard and to secure the vessel for salvage.
