WHIDBEY ISLAND – Two people were injured and were taken to a hospital in a one-vehicle accident Friday evening, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The accident took place around 8:11 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 525 and Houston Road north of Clinton, the patrol said.
Ace Harris, 24, and Molly Tucker, 22, both of Stanwood, were heading north on the highway in a Ford Escort and struck spike strips set by Island County Sheriff’s officers who had been pursuing their car.
Harris, the driver, lost control of the car, veered right off the road and struck a tree. He and Tucker were transferred to a local hospital. Their conditions were unknown Saturday.
