SPOKANE — Two of the three people on the state board that regulates Washington’s liquor and marijuana laws are stepping down.
Chris Marr, a former state senator from Spokane, is resigning from the Liquor Control Board in January to take a position as a lobbyist.
The Spokesman-Review reported Thursday that Marr will be a lobbyist for Group Health Cooperative and a large scrap metal company. He says he has no plans to work for liquor or marijuana clients.
Board chairwoman Sharon Foster has informed Gov. Jay Inslee that she will not accept reappointment to the board when her term expires in January.
A spokesman for Inslee says the governor already is considering replacements. Board members make about $50,800 a year.
