MARYSVILLE – Police made two more arrests Wednesday in connection with a recent home-invasion robbery in which three armed men held a family captive and kidnapped the father.

Two Everett men were arrested Wednesday afternoon, bringing the total number of arrests to five, Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.

Officers also searched a storage unit on Evergreen Way in south Everett, where items allegedly stolen in the robbery were found, Krusey said.

Prosecutors allege the motive for the July 27 robbery was a woman’s desire to recover some NASCAR racing jackets – including one signed by a racing legend – that belonged to her ex-husband.

A Marysville family was terrorized and a man bound and hauled off in his own van before the State Patrol intervened.

Bail remained set at $500,000 Wednesday for three of the five people accused in the robbery. The three who were arrested earlier were charged Tuesday in Everett District Court. Prosecutors have until Aug. 20 to move the case to Snohomish County Superior Court.

Mark D. Terrazas of Mount Vernon, and Christine Lee Iverson and Charles Lloyd Hiatt, both of Marysville, each face counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree burglary.

The two men arrested Wednesday are expected to appear in Everett District Court today.

Prosecutors allege Iverson recruited the men to break into a the home and steal the NASCAR jackets.

The homeowner and a 15-year-old boy were beaten, and the man was forced into his van and driven away by the assailants, police said.

He was rescued after a state trooper tried to pull the van over for a traffic stop. The driver attempted to speed away, but the vehicle crashed. Two men in the vehicle ran away and were arrested later.
