EVERETT — A woman was on a test drive when she crashed a car into a pickup in Everett Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, 42, and her passenger, a 39-year-old man who worked at a car dealership, were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with potentially life-threatening injuries, Everett police said in a news release.
Officers arrived just after 4:30 p.m. at the scene in the 300 block of SE Everett Mall Way. Witnesses reported the woman was test-driving a Hyundai Elantra. She was allegedly driving recklessly while northbound on SE Everett Mall Way when she rear-ended a Chevrolet Silverado, pushing it across an intersection, through a utility pole — shearing it — and into a parking lot, where the pickup was toppled onto its side.
The driver of the pickup, a 54-year-old man, and his 10-year-old daughter were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A third vehicle, parked with no one in it, was hit by the utility pole, the news release said.
Traffic detectives closed the road for almost three hours Tuesday night to process the scene. They’re still investigating and are looking for anyone with more information. Tips can be directed to the Everett Police Department at 425-257-8450.
