SEATTLE — Two Seattle doctors have pleaded guilty to illegally obtaining prescription drugs for their own use.
Dr. Keith Levitt, an anesthesiologist, and Dr. Jacob Kerst, a dentist, entered the pleas in U.S. District Court on Thursday. They face up to four years in prison and a $250,000 fine when they are sentenced in October.
Prosecutors say the pair used a number of illegal methods to acquire the highly addictive painkiller hydrocodone, sometimes diverting pills that they ostensibly ordered to treat patients.
Levitt performed cosmetic procedures such as botox injections at his Regeneration Medispa and Salon on Queen Anne hill. Kerst had an office in the Century Square Building near Pike Place Market.
