TACOMA — Prosecutors have filed aggravated first-degree murder charges against two men in a robbery where an armored-car guard was shot to death Tuesday at a Wal-Mart in the Tacoma suburb of Lakewood.
The Pierce County prosecutor’s office today also charged 34-year-old Calvin Finley and 20-year-old Marshawn Turpin with first-degree murder, and first-degree assault and robbery.
Deputy prosecutor Mark Lindquist says the defendants entered not guilty pleas during a hearing in Pierce County Superior Court. Lindquist says Finley and Turpin are being held on $5 million bail each.
Two other people arrested — 41-year-old Odies D. Walker and 42-year-old Tonie Marie Williams-Irby — were charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
Loomis security guard Kurt Husted was shot in the head Tuesday afternoon while leaving a bank branch inside the Wal-Mart. The same bullet also wounded a customer.
