MONROE — U.S. 2 in downtown Monroe opened around 1:30 p.m. Monday after workers capped a gas leak at Kelsey Street.
The gas leak had closed all lanes of the highway at 179th Avenue SE and Chain Lake Road around 10 a.m. The closure caused traffic to back up for miles, as drivers took a detour.
