OLYMPIA — A union-backed political group has reserved some $2 million in ad time before the November election.
A spokesman for one of the unions involved in Our Washington said Wednesday that the group wants to highlight how Democratic candidate Jay Inslee stands up for the middle class. He said the ads will also question Republican candidate Rob McKenna’s policies.
The spokesman, Adam Glickman, said the ad buy is in the range of about $2 million. The group does not have those pledges in hand yet but hopes to have the money avaialable when the ads begin to run.
Our Washington’s latest public disclosure filings show the group has raised about $900,000, mostly from the state teacher’s union, the Democratic Governors Association and the Service Employees International Union.
McKenna and Inslee have raised a combined $10 million for their campaigns.
