MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police on Tuesday arrested a sex offender in Mountlake Terrace who had a warrant out of Kitsap County for not registering.
The man, 39, was found at a home in the 24200 block of 57th Avenue W., police Cmdr. Doug Hansen said.
A woman living at the house told police the man had been gone awhile and probably went to Eastern Washington, but police found items at the house that indicated otherwise, Hansen said.
Officers talked to neighbors and asked them to keep an eye out for the man. Later, neighbors called 911 after they saw the man jump a fence and return to the house, Hansen said. When police arrived, the man ran away but was later caught with the help of an Edmonds police dog.
He was booked into Snohomish County Jail.
