TACOMA — The Tacoma school district has canceled a planned student trip to Madagascar in January because of concerns about Ebola and political unrest in Africa.
About two dozen students from the School of the Arts and Science and Math Institute had planned to take part in the trip.
The News Tribune reported some parents and students say they have a hard time understanding the decision because the island in the Indian Ocean is far from the west Africa Ebola outbreak.
