EVERETT — A power surge caused an estimated 30,000 gallons of untreated sewage to spill into Port Gardner in Everett on Sunday.
City crews are investigating the incident, Everett spokeswoman Kate Reardon said Monday.
The spill lasted about 20 minutes at the sewage lift station at the north end of Pigeon Creek Road, Reardon said.
Signs are posted in the area warning people to keep out of the water.
Crews have tested water samples since the spill and are awaiting results, Reardon said.
Health agencies have been notified.
