EVERETT — Big things are under way for the Carl Gipson Senior Center.
Workers have begun a $1 million project that could last as long as six months.
The project will include an expansion of the multipurpose room, an extension of the stage, a new elevator and upgraded kitchen.
The center will be open during the remodel. However, there will be a few inconveniences during the construction.
Parking will be limited. People with senior campus stickers can now park on the north side of Wall Street between Lombard Avenue and Broadway.
The kitchen also will be temporarily closed. An interim lunch program is scheduled to be available at the Broadway Plaza next door. A small number of sack lunches also will be available.
Classes and activities are scheduled to continue but may have to share space as the center is being remodeled.
Construction updates and more information is available by calling 425-257-8780.
