CHEHALIS — A Vader couple is charged with homicide by abuse in the death of a 3-year-old boy in their care.
The Lewis County sheriff’s office says the coroner determined Jasper Henderling-Warner was a battered child. He stopped breathing Wednesday and was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital where he died. He had severe and obvious bruises and injuries to his entire body.
The sheriff’s office says 27-year-old Brenda Wing and 26-year-old Danny Wing were arrested Friday. They have three children 6 years old and younger who were placed in the care of Child Protective Services.
Jasper was in the care of the Vader couple while his mother was in Vancouver.
Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer says his pain and suffering was consequence of a life of drugs, alcohol and abuse.
