VANCOUVER, Wash. — An 11-year-old Vancouver boy who has been held since last Wednesday for bringing a gun, ammo and knives to school cursed the juvenile court commissioner who decided Tuesday he should remain in custody.
The Columbian reported that he also swore at security officers who escorted him out of the courtroom after he refused to leave.
Juvenile Court Commissioner Jennifer Snider denied his release after reviewing a mental health evaluation. Snider said his family had ignored the advice of mental health professionals and the boy has anger management problems that intensify when authority figures give him instructions.
His competency will be reviewed again at a Nov. 12 hearing.
The boy had told police a voice told him it was a good idea to kill another student who called his friend gay.
