PORTLAND, Ore. — A Vancouver man accused of killing his infant son after the child became fussy has pleaded guilty to domestic violence murder.
KPTV-TV reported that David Redmond entered his plea in court Feb. 12 in connection with the October 2014 death of his 1-month-old son.
Court documents say Redmond initially told police he had rolled over the child while sleeping, but doctors said his account was not consistent with the child’s severe injuries. The baby had suffered a skull fracture and had bleeding inside his skull.
The documents say Redmond later admitted to throwing the child toward a changing table because the baby was “really fussy.” He told authorities he “instantly felt bad” about the incident.
According to the documents, Redmond had abused the baby numerous times before his death.
