Incumbent Kathy Vaughn was headed toward a fourth six-year term on the commission for the Snohomish County Public Utility District in early election returns Tuesday.
Vaughn held a wide lead over challenger Eric Teegarden of Mountlake Terrace.
Vaughn, 62, of Lynnwood, was first elected in 1994. She serves along with Dave Aldrich and Toni Olson on the commission for the utility, which provides electricity through about 320,000 hookups in Snohomish County and on Camano Island.
Vaughn is the owner of Goldmark Financial Corp., a Lynnwood mortgage company. Teegarden, 43, is a designer and sales consultant for Northwest Wind and Solar of Seattle. He also ran against Vaughn for her Snohomish County PUD commissioner post in 2006. He’s previously run once for city council in Brier and twice in Mountlake Terrace.
