MARYSVILLE — No one was injured after an SUV caught fire on I-5 south of Marysville Friday morning, snarling traffic for miles.
The driver was southbound when the back of his Toyota 4Runner erupted in flames around 10:30 a.m. He was able to pull onto the right shoulder. Brush caught fire and the two right lanes were closed for about an hour, causing the backup.
“My suggestion is to pack your patience, but hopefully we were able to clear it before (the) Friday rush,” said Heather Axtman, Washington State Patrol trooper.
Cause of the fire is unknown.
