TACOMA — The 17-year-old driver of a car involved in a fatal crash in Tacoma has been charged with vehicular homicide.
The Pierce County prosecutor filed the charge Monday against Eduardo Francisco Francisco-Andres in juvenile court. A hearing will be held next week to determine if he will be prosecuted as an adult, which would mean a tougher sentence if convicted.
Police said a group of friends had been drinking beer Friday and the driver crashed into a tree in Point Defiance Park.
The crash killed 15-year-old Alex Ramirez.
