SNOHOMISH — The bicyclist who was struck by a car and killed Tuesday has been identified as Richard P. Johnson, 45, of Sultan, a Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office official said Thursday.
Johnson was riding in the 13200 block of the Old Snohomish-Monroe Road when he was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old Snohomish youth, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson died at the scene.
Investigators believe the car’s speed was a factor in the crash. The case will be referred to the prosecutor’s office to determine if any charges will be filed.
