If you have a case of the Mondays, check out this fun video diversion called “The Making of a Flower &Garden Show.”
It’s a fixed, bird’s-eye view inside the Washington State Convention &Trade Center in Seattle just before the 2003 Northwest Flower &Garden Show.
It starts totally empty with nothing in view but a naked concrete floor.
Eventually, thanks to time-lapse videography, it begins to fill with everything it takes to create a show garden, which is quite a lot.
Humans buzz about like little insects, constructing gardens with sawdust, pallets, soil and potted plants and trees, not to mention literally tons of hardscaping, including a hot tub in the most visible garden.
Then you get to see showgoers scurry through at a breakneck pace, followed by what appears to be a labor-intensive take-down and clean-up process.
The 2008 NWF&GS will be Feb. 18-22.
