The Krug family continues to be in the news, and that is a very, very wonderful thing.
Brenna Krug, 7, suffers from cystic fibrosis, a genetic, multi-system and eventually fatal disease. It has no cure.
We’ve written about Brenna through the years. When she was 4, the Marysville girl’s community raised money for the family to take a trip to Disneyland.
We wrote about her mother, Brandy Krug, telling legislators in Olympia about the expense of health care.
Her family will be in Tulalip on Saturday walking for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Brandy Krug is one of the walk founders, she says.
“The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fuels the vital research for better care programs, treatments, medications and therapies, as well as the ongoing search for a cure,” Krug says. “The walk will be very family friendly, with games and activities, a complimentary lunch, music and a raffle drawing with over 20 amazing prizes.”
The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Tulalip Casino and Resort Amphitheatre, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd.
The 3-mile walk is on a flat course.
For more information, e-mail Brandy Krug at brandy.krug@yahoo.com or call 425-343-9447.
The “Great Strides—Tulalip: Taking Steps To Cure Cystic Fibrosis” walk event, is an annual program. The first year they put the walk together in a month and raised almost $10,000, Krug says.

Unfortunately, because of a lack of interest and participation, the third annual Camano Island Chamber of Commerce Public Golf Tournament scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled at Camaloch Golf Course.
It was going to have raffles and prizes.
There would have been a shotgun start and a barbecue lunch.
It would have been sponsored by Angel of the Winds Casino in Arlington.
It probably would have been a dandy afternoon.

Here is a great idea for tonight: Folks can do the “Move Your Body to the Music Because It Doesn’t Have To Have A Fancy Name Dance.”
Or do the swing, fox trot, rumba, cowboy cha-cha or Electric Slide at “Dancin’ at the Grange.”
Get a dance lesson at 7:30 p.m., followed by dancing at 8:15 p.m. at the South Camano Grange, 2227 S. Camano Drive.
Cost is $8 including the lesson.
And no partner is required. Feel free to dance with your sweetie or mix with the group.
