BOTHELL — A house fire displaced a family of five Friday morning.
The blaze was reported just after 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of 192nd Place SE. One of the residents noticed smoke and popping noises coming from a nearby wall heater, said Kate Bogh, a fire district spokeswoman.
The family escaped the burning house without injuries.
The fire caused about $105,000 worth of damage and was caused by a wall heater in a bedroom, said Brenda Larsen, fire investigator with the county fire marshal’s office.
The county chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Last year was the first time the Tulalips hosted the gathering, which symbolizes the journeys tribes historically made to share news and trade for goods.
Thousands of people turned out for the event in June, which began with the arrival of about 60 canoes from Northwest tribes. For more information, call the communications department at 360-651-4330.
