WALLA WALLA — Cutbacks in some parts of the Washington state prison system are sending more inmates to the Washington state Penitentiary at Walla Walla.
The prison is updating a building to prepare for the arrival of 250 minimum-security inmates by July. Another 500 men are expected in the next year.
KEPR reports the prison also is adding nearly 40 jobs this summer and 100 more within the next year.
