SEATTLE — The Washington health exchange has launched a new advertising and outreach campaign, focused on helping people understand the value of insurance.
New television ads take a humorous look at the ways people avoid medical bills. One shows a guy who attempts to diagnose and fix his own broken ankle with office supplies. In another ad, a woman treats a rash with cream cheese.
Washington Healthplanfinder is also working with Spanish-language television station Univision to reach out in Latino communities. That program will include interviews and public service announcements on free in-person help to sign up for insurance and community enrollment events.
Open enrollment for health insurance began last weekend and runs through Feb. 15.
