OLYMPIA — Washington state government employment has dropped for two years in a row.
The Seattle Times reported nearly 4,700 jobs have been cut since 2009 — more than 7 percent of the workforce.
Most workers departed on their own. State figures show 21 percent of the departures were layoffs.
