OLYMPIA — A new ferries director has been hired in Washington state.
Department of Transportation Secretary Lynn Peterson announced Wednesday that Lynne Griffith has been appointed to head the agency’s ferry division. She’s the first woman appointed to lead the ferry system.
Griffith, who currently services as the chief executive officer of Pierce Transit, has more than 35 years of experience in the transportation industry.
The state had been searching for a new director since David Moseley resigned earlier this year.
Griffith starts next month.
