Statewide results for high school students on the spring WASL will be released Monday, according to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Results will be available for this year’s freshmen, sophomores and juniors.
Local school districts have sent or will soon be mailing individual Washington Assessment of Student Learning scores to students and parents.
High school students must pass the 10th-grade WASL in reading and writing or an alternative to the WASL to earn a diploma. Some students pass the exams as freshmen and don’t have to take them again.
Students aren’t required to pass the math WASL to graduate, but must continuing taking – and passing – math courses and attempting the math WASL in their junior and senior years to meet the state graduation requirement.
The state recently released results for this year’s seniors, which showed most students met the WASL requirements for graduation.
The state on Monday will not be releasing district-level results on the high school exams. Results for grades three through eight won’t be released until September.
