PORTLAND, Ore. — The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch starting late Saturday that includes the central Oregon coast up through the south Washington coast.
The agency says there’s a potential for winds up to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph on beaches and headlands through Sunday morning.
The Weather Service says winds could make travel along the coast hazardous.
It also says saturated soils could make trees more susceptible to toppling in strong winds, causing damage and power disruptions.
The possible time of the high winds is between about midnight Saturday and sunrise Sunday.
